Description: Health care reform remains a front-burner issue for advisers as the race for the White House intensifies. Republicans and Democrats alike are talking about changing the current system, with the goal to expand coverage while keeping an eye towards costs.

And while reform continues on a state-by-state basis, broader reform will probably have to wait until early 2009.

There has been no shortage of activity in the group health market, however. In addition to state-based efforts to expand coverage, ongoing carrier consolidation continues to be a sore point for brokers throughout the country. Consumer-driven health is growing and reshaping the group medical market as well. Finally, increased cost-scrutiny by employers and individuals continues to erode the generic health adviser’s book of business.

Listen in as three benefits brokerage experts discuss how the latest trends are changing the market and how advisers can devise a strategy to prosper.
